Finding A New Focus

“Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.”

—Christian D. Larson

Tomorrow I start a new job in a completely different field than what I ultimately want to do with my life. After years of trying to get into the business end of entertainment and worrying about wasting time doing it, I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to just do it myself—at my own pace, with my own rules.

Understanding this took a weight off my shoulders, and while it’s not the way for everyone, I know that at this point in my life, it’s the way for me and it’s just one more obstacle for me to overcome.

I’m excited to start a new job because—I mean, I need more money and insurance—but really because I’m ready to meet new people, hear new ideas, learn about different lives (and get more story ideas, yep) and discover new opportunities and chances that will get me closer to what I want.

It’s about the journey and not the destination, right? I’m ready to take it all in stride and enjoy it all as much as possible.

and guys I’m just really excited to have money to buy things again (and yes, I know I don’t have it yet, so I won’t overspend mom, it’s fine)
