Today is back to school. Even as an adult, my brain marks this day as a new beginning for the year – maybe even more than January 1st. I’m not heading back to school, but my kids are. The smell of the air in the morning in September is a little cooler, smells a little more earthy, and then warms up for lovely days. I wait for the leaves to change and I love to use this time to refresh or start new routines during the school day.
I am lured by the cliche fall candles (I have acquired an apple cider candle this year) and a trip through the Starbucks drive-thru for my emotional support fall beverage. I’ll get in a good workout and break out the sweaters and boots (once the weather settles down). I’ll have a fresh to-do list notebook, which is a wonderful feeling. So much opportunity!
Life has been extraordinarily busy these last few weeks and the frequency of my blog post writing has been disappointing. I am thrilled for the new start and getting back to my writing ritual.
Happy Not Quite Fall, definitely still Summer!
